The History of Shaggeybark

Shaggeybark began with the intense love for the Old English Sheepdog breed way back in 1971. The first Old English Sheepdog was a too cute female pup from a puppy mill. The second and third Old English Sheepdogs were imports from England. It was not until 1991, that the fourth Old English Sheepdog was purchased. This was Andrea. She became our foundation bitch and what beautiful pups, grand pups, great grand pups, and great great grand pups she did produce. Andrea was a wonderful Mom. She had four litters, twenty two pups with seventeen of them finishing their AKC championships. Andrea’s pedigree is full of top and national winning Old English Sheepdogs. Our kennel is a reflection of this wonderful bitches genes. Andrea died peacefully on her favorite couch at the age of 12 ½ years old. She left a legacy of excellent conformation, disposition, health, and memories of what fun it was living with her.
